Back to Business

After my month of not posting, it's high time I said something. We finally got our Internet up.

Well, a week ago, actually. But it took a while from ordering it to getting connected. And we're still not done; we're waiting on our VOIP line and a router for connecting a second computer.

The "we" is my girlfriend, Midori, and I. We moved into our new place and it's going well, much classier interior decorating than I could ever do alone. Not too expensive either.

Money, however, is still a problem. I'm working two jobs now, but earing barely enough to keep my head above the water. The university is on winter vacation til April, leaving me with half my usual hours and income. And our school isn't profitable by a long shot.

Not to say the school is a total failure. We have had a few students sign up this month, and a few more starting next month. A little shy of ten people, all up. It's a start, but we're gonna need some 40-50 if we plan to keep open more than a year. We're doing a lot of flyering and had an ad in the local paper. Mostly getting people by word-of-mouth, which isn't so efficient when you don't know anyone in the area. Always optimistic, we're hoping the beginning of the school year in March will see more sign-ups.

It's still cold here, but the days are really bright and sunny. Would be great to get out and do some sightseeing, great weather for hiking.
