The Long Haul

Seeing as I've not posted in near a month, I should catch up what's been going on that time. Nothing. It's been work, capoeira, and PC with intervals of sleep. The rut I was expecting has thus begun.

It's wierd when your predictions come true, especially when you were hoping they wouldn't. I knew I'd be stuck working 6-day weeks once the school got going, and that's I'm doing. I said we'd be OK if we got ten students in our first month, we got 13. Things turned out just as I'd expected, but I really wish they hadn't. Three days of work and 50 students would be my wish come true. That's youthful optimism for you.

In any case, I'm gonna be doing this for at least 6 months. That should be about the point when we can say for sure whether it's worth trying to keep the school going. Then it'll be the uphill battle of paying off debts and making a living.

It's still cold here, but the days are bright and sunny. I guess we're getting a lot of arctic wind and weather fronts. It's annoying weather. I want to go outside because it looks beautiful and spring is coming, but I don't wanna get all bundled up for the trip. Even worse is that I don't have many free days to enjoy, so I'd rather just waste time at home and relax.

Speaking of home, it's really quite nice. We've got a little living room set up with a coffee table and a TV stand. None trash picked, it may well be the most new furnishings I've ever had. Score one for purchasing power!

And I'm gonna have to start looking into a trip home this year.
